Course details:
The course is bespoke and will be tailored to meet students’ individual needs. Please check with Ritz Education for more info. Briefly, the course will be divided into 4 main sections:
Voice Training
Voice training focuses on developing clarity, projection, articulation, and vocal variety to enhance communication skills. Students will learn proper breathing techniques, vocal warm-ups, and exercises to improve resonance and expressiveness. The course covers pitch, pace, tone, and modulation to help students convey emotions effectively and engage their audience. Emphasis is also placed on overcoming speech anxiety, enhancing diction, and using vocal techniques to create compelling performances.
Body Movement
Body movement training helps students develop physical awareness and control to support their performance skills. Through exercises in posture, gestures, and spatial awareness, students learn how to use their bodies to express emotions and tell stories effectively. This module also explores stage presence, coordination, and how movement can complement speech in dramatic and public speaking settings. Activities include mime, expressive gestures, and dynamic movement to enhance confidence and storytelling abilities.
Improvisation
Improvisation encourages students to think quickly, adapt to unexpected situations, and create spontaneous performances. This module enhances creativity, confidence, and teamwork by engaging students in unscripted scenarios and storytelling exercises. Through improv games and role-playing activities, students develop their ability to react naturally, build engaging narratives, and stay present in the moment. The course also teaches problem-solving skills and how to use improvisation to enhance scripted performances.
Appreciation
The appreciation module introduces students to analyzing and understanding various forms of speech and drama. They explore classic and contemporary works, learning how to interpret themes, characters, and dramatic techniques. Students will also watch and critique performances, gaining insight into different styles of delivery and artistic expression. This module fosters a deeper understanding of the impact of drama and spoken word in storytelling, entertainment, and communication.
In addition to speech and drama, we also offer the following courses with New Era Academy Accreditation:
