The STEM Foundation Holiday Camp is designed for students with a curious mind and a passion for solving real-world challenges through science, technology, engineering, and mathematics. Led by experienced and enthusiastic educators, the program fosters hands-on exploration, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills—essential for success in today’s rapidly evolving STEM landscape. Throughout the camp, students will engage in a full research cycle: identifying knowledge gaps, designing and conducting experiments, analyzing results, and presenting their findings. They will apply STEM concepts in practice, articulate their design processes, and experience what it’s like to be a real-world researcher. To further enrich their learning experience, students will attend expert-led seminars, gaining valuable insights into cutting-edge STEM applications. All guest speakers are from prestigious universities and are actively engaged in groundbreaking research in their fields. Additionally, completing certain projects during the camp may qualify students for the esteemed CREST Award, recognizing their achievements in STEM-based inquiry and innovation.

Our holiday camps are designed to be fully tailored to the needs of schools and students, ensuring an enriching and engaging experience that aligns with their interests and learning objectives. Curriculum

The holiday camp will include lessons (15 hrs) of the following topics

This project center around STEM exploration, with a strong emphasis on environmental science, space exploration, and survival in extreme conditions. Students will engage in hands-on experiments that simulate real-world phenomena, such as the effects of acid rain on different materials and the impact of air pollution on human health. They will also explore astronomy by building their own telescopes and investigating the role of sunlight in photosynthesis. The program delves into extreme survival scenarios, where students study organisms that thrive in harsh conditions, simulate nuclear winter energy production, and design post-catastrophe meal plans. Additionally, they will investigate asteroid impacts by analyzing crater formation and debris patterns and explore how different light sources affect plant growth. Beyond scientific exploration, the activities help students develop essential problem-solving and critical-thinking skills, with the opportunity to earn the CREST Discovery Award upon completion.
This project immerses students in a STEM-based survival challenge, where they apply science, technology, engineering, and mathematics to navigate a post-apocalyptic or zombie outbreak scenario. Through hands-on experiments and problem-solving tasks, students explore critical survival concepts such as protection, resourcefulness, communication, and adaptability in extreme conditions. Students will design protective gear, such as a puncture-resistant neck guard to prevent zombie bites and silent footwear to move undetected. They will investigate renewable energy solutions, experimenting with how solar power can be used for cooking when conventional resources are unavailable. Engineering principles come into play as they build siege engines capable of launching projectiles, drawing inspiration from historical defense mechanisms. Beyond physical survival, the program delves into communication and electrical circuits, where students create pressure-activated switches and use Morse code for discreet messaging. In the realm of biology, they will explore real-world parasites that manipulate their hosts, drawing eerie parallels to fictional zombie transformations. Additionally, they will analyze food preservation techniques and strategize the best methods for securing and storing sustenance in a crisis.
This STEM activity series immerses students in the future of construction, exploring cutting-edge engineering, sustainability, and technological advancements shaping tomorrow’s built environment. Through hands-on challenges, students will design earthquake-resistant skyscrapers, construct eco-friendly homes, and build lightweight yet strong bridges, applying real-world engineering principles. They will experiment with 3D printing technology, simulating how automated construction could revolutionize building efficiency. Additionally, students will explore disaster-proof designs, testing structures against earthquakes, floods, and high winds to understand how modern materials and engineering techniques can enhance resilience. Beyond structural innovations, students will engage in designing smart transportation infrastructure, envisioning sustainable highways, hyperloop tunnels, and self-healing roads. Robotics in construction will also be a key focus, with students programming simple robots to perform basic building tasks, mirroring the use of drones and automated machinery in real-world construction. These activities foster problem-solving, creativity, and critical thinking, encouraging students to tackle modern engineering challenges and develop solutions that could define the cities of the future. Through experimentation, teamwork, and innovation, students will gain valuable insights into how science and technology are shaping the next era of construction.

Exciting excursions

As part of the holiday camp experience, students will embark on exciting excursions to some of the UK’s most iconic destinations. They will explore the historic university cities of Oxford and Cambridge, where they can walk in the footsteps of great scholars, visit renowned colleges, and immerse themselves in the rich academic heritage of these world-famous institutions. In London, students will enjoy sightseeing tours that showcase the city’s most famous landmarks, including Buckingham Palace, the Houses of Parliament, the Tower of London, and more. These excursions serve as examples of the enriching experiences available, and the itinerary can be tailored to suit the specific interests and needs of each group. Whether focusing on history, culture, or academic inspiration, we ensure that every excursion provides a perfect balance of education and adventure.

Accommodation

Accommodation is provided at prestigious independent boarding schools or university campuses, offering a secure and inspiring environment for learning and personal growth. All students stay in purpose-built accommodation, with the option of shared dormitories or private rooms. Dormitories typically house four to six students. Designated space is available for storing personal belongings.

Staff are available on-site 24/7 to provide support and ensure student well-being. Boys and girls are accommodated in separate houses. Spacious communal area and garden are available where students can relax, socialize, and enjoy activities during their free time.
